LA TEJITA BEACH - TENERIFE
The perfect place to feel at one with nature. This beach spanning over one kilometre (3,280 ft) in length is located in El Médano, in Granadilla de Abona, by the majestic volcanic cone of Montaña Roja.
The area has been classed as a protected nature area, so you won't be able to get down to the beach by car, but there are parking spaces available by the Médano-Los Abrigos road, where several paths branch off and lead straight to the beach. It only takes a five-minute walk.
La Tejita is one of the wildest and most beautiful beaches in Tenerife, It is a hidden area next to the Montaña Roja Natural Reserve, an ancient reddish volcanic crater that gave its name to this beach in Tenerife. Although it is usually a fairly windy area, the weather is very similar to the rest of the island, so good temperatures are guaranteed. Along the kilometer and a half of La Tejita beach you will get magnificent views of the reddish rock that crowns the beach. Near the Red Mountain there is a small private beach zone where nudists are welcome at that zone of the beach.
